Description

Influenced unconsciously by his hometown of Saint-Étienne and its mining past, Zed Yun Pavarotti builds his music like a desert western. Calling on Johnny Cash as much as Famous Dex and A$AP Rocky, the young Pavarotti crafts a technical melancholy from a puzzle of automatic thoughts, defining his identity in small fragments. Sometimes disillusioned, often sardonic, he drifts gently through his world populated by wrecked bodies, English-style proles, and half-gothic freaks.
His surreal nursery rhymes drip with the pursuit of success, money, and social ascent as an auto-tuned escape route. But they are not an end in themselves; only the emotion born from his performance matters—like Tom Hardy seeing red in prison in Bronson. Wholehearted, laconic, and poetic, Zed Yun Pavarotti fully embodies that wild fusion between modern cloud trap and the operatic icon invoked in his name.
Nurtured by the piercing voice of tenor Luciano, Zed draws from it his unwavering determination, his desire to grasp the intangible, the precious without a label. Like the king of the high C, Zed seeks the wild note—the one that makes you unique.
Inspired by the image of the vulture, shunned by all despite its power, Zed Yun Pavarotti is one of those who believe the last shall be first—going so far as to tattoo the Grand Zero on his face. At once everything and nothing at all, Zed unsettles those who try to decipher him, wielding his relentless fire to impose his iconoclastic imprint.
Cosmopolitan, he also feeds on the aesthetics of the new icons of Eastern Europe, finding in them the blend of violence and strangeness he loves, somewhere between Soviet-bloc imagery and unbridled ultra-capitalism. The coup de grâce is coming soon: Zed is opening up to new horizons. He tests his little pieces in a post-apocalyptic theater, forging new songs with no established form, leaving a neo-metallic taste in the mouth.
