Description
After a three-year hiatus, Daphni (aka Dan Snaith) returns with "Sad Piano House," a track that extends the aesthetic of his previous productions and reaffirms his impact on dancefloors thanks to a hypnotic piano and infectious energy. Between his Cherry and Butterfly projects, Snaith has particularly shone with "Honey" under his other alias, Caribou , further blurring the lines between his musical identities.
This permeability culminates in " Waiting So Long ," the first single from Butterfly , where Daphni and Caribou collaborate for the first time—a paradoxical duo since they are the same person. Snaith sings for the first time on a Daphni track, bringing to life a song he considers to belong to both worlds.
Butterfly draws as much from the essence of the dance floor as from the older roots of Daphni , recalling the abundant creativity of Jiaolong. The album celebrates experimentation and the joy of pushing boundaries, while remaining cohesive. More than just a collection of club tracks, it synthesizes Snaith's artistic palette around a clear guiding thread: simplicity and joy.
