Like the short food circuit, the direct-to-fan purchase guarantees fairer remuneration for artists and labels (about 75% of a direct-to-fan sale goes to the producer), allowing them to sustain the development of their artistic projects.

The number of intermediaries is reduced to a minimum and transport costs, as well as the associated CO2 emissions, are optimized.

This new direct sales channel also makes it possible to fill cultural deserts and to receive your disc on the day of its official release thanks to pre-orders.

Description
For the past decade The Magician’s seminal Magic Tapes compilation series have soundtracked some of life’s most prized moments for fans around the world. Deep disco cuts to accompany a first kiss, sultry House tunes to mend a broken heart, and of course late night dance anthems that guide the party to the afters and onwards in style. Today, on the eve of the 99th edition of the infamous series, The Magician has announced The Magic Tape 100 to be released as a celebratory album on January 27 2021 on his own POTION Records.


To accompany the announcement, The Magician today released The Magic Tape 99 - a three hour mix of both recently dropped and unreleased heaters to act as a celebratory moment for the reveal of The Magic Tape 100 details. The Magic Tape 99 is a club-ready blend crafted by The Magician with iconic dance floors front of mind like ​Elsewhere NY, Womb Tokyo, Sonar Off, Berghain Berlin and Phono London.

The Magic Tape 100 album offers a collection of artists who have adorned The Magician’s record box in DJ booths around the world since the project’s inception ten years ago. Devotees to the series can rejoice as The Magician has created a special package to reserve ahead of release date featuring a Magic Tape vinyl, cassette, commemorative poster, and shirt.

In The Magician’s own words,
“I wanted to strike hard with the 100th edition of the Magic Tape series by asking several artists to work on an exclusive track for this event. At the beginning, I had a list of 30 artists whose music I’m fond of and whom I've supported on my Magic Tape mixes over the years, but also with whom I have a friendly bond. Some of them had also released singles on my label Potion Records. Almost everyone responded with a lot of excitement, and I ended up choosing 14 songs and added a track of mine to close the tracklist.
This album is the perfect representation of the Magic Tape’s project, mixing artists from all around the world, each with their different and quite specific sounds and styles.
After 10 years of Magic tapes, I’m very proud to see this project come to life, celebrating 10 years of electronic music, and celebrating my career.
