Description
Nestled in medieval illuminations as much as in the cockpit of a spaceship, Lutèce Lockness travels through the ages by way of the Châ. She invents worlds where dreamlike imagery and satire intertwine, inviting us to embrace the bizarre, the strange, and the intimate.
With her debut album Le Châ, she creates a shape-shifting epic blending psychedelic sonorities, medieval timbres, digital textures, and soaring drones. Lutèce's breath becomes a guide at the heart of an enveloping, spellbinding universe, mixed by Étienne Colin (The Artist), exploring a composition of vast, incantatory, and powerful range.
A transdisciplinary artist, Lutèce Lockness carves her own path through different spaces and inner circles, with projects such as Bande organisée (Seuil), or within the punk band Forsissies. With the Châ, whose fur she has worn since 2023, she brings the science of hacking to fruition through music. She turns her back on efficiency, favoring instead the long, atonal cascades of organ and harpsichord from her guest Jean Rondeau, the organ robots of Maxime Denuc, and the thunderous flashes of Christoph Fink, all woven into her compositions.
Deeply self-taught, she has cultivated a distinctive approach to sound since childhood, giving meaning to music independently of words.
