Adieu Monde Cruel (Bande originale du film)
Description
Arnaud Toulon, winner of the 2026 César Award for Best Original Music for Arco, composed the original score for Félix de Givry’s Adieu Monde Cruel. Long-time friends, the two mark their first collaboration as composer and director. Presented as the closing film of Cannes Critics’ Week, Adieu Monde Cruel is a romantic coming-of-age story blending fairy tale, melodrama and crime thriller.
Music plays a genuinely narrative role throughout the film, unfolding around a recurring theme that is both lyrical and melancholic. With this second original score, Arnaud Toulon delivers a remarkably subtle work, striking a delicate balance between darkness and light, and recalling the great scores of Delerue for Truffaut and Herrmann for Hitchcock.
The score was developed over the course of a year before being recorded at Studios Saint Germain with musicians from the Paris Opera Orchestra.
This limited edition features exclusive illustrations inspired by the film.
