After pioneering the use of the Moog synthesizer on their early recordings, the group gradually moved towards a more acoustic and spiritual sound, drawing inspiration from the piano, guitar, percussion, and musical traditions of India, Africa, and South America. Fricke rejected labels such as \"krautrock\" and \"new age,\" preferring terms like \"magical music\" or \"cosmic space rock\" when a description was necessary. To accompany this release, three contemporary artists – James K, ML Buch, and Lorenzo Senni – revisit the original score of Popol Vuh.
