Description
The original soundtrack for the documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story, directed by Jean-Cosme Delaloye, will be released digitally on June 20, 2025, followed by a double vinyl and CD edition on July 18. Released on the Planet E Communications label, it traces the career of Detroit techno pioneer Carl Craig through a selection of tracks from his many aliases and collaborations, including several rare or previously unreleased pieces.
Among them are “No More Words” (1991), available digitally for the first time, “The Truth,” reissued 25 years after its original release, and “Meditation 4,” used for the end credits. The soundtrack also includes notable remixes, such as the Grammy-nominated version of “Like A Child” (Junior Boys) and “Azure” (Slam), which had seen limited distribution until now.
The film follows Craig’s journey from Detroit to the international stage, exploring his work across music, art, and culture. It highlights his role in honoring the African American roots of electronic music, featuring interviews with figures such as Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson, and DJ Minx.
