After all, when Cage wrote his manifesto The Future of Music in the late 1930s, he already knew that the merging of written and electronic music would bear exquisite fruits.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe album is the lone protuberance from 2016 album Statea, on which Wagner, alongside producer Murcof (she on the piano, him manning the machines), reinterpreted pieces from the fathers of minimalism: Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Morton Feldman, Erik Satie, or John Cage.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe same secret conversation between the artist, the piano, and contemporary music is now continuing on Inland. Making more with less, the album turns long harmonies into multicolored prisms, miniature detailed embroidery, sighs and breaths, syncopated or restrained chants. In this brave new world, sounds exist for themselves, and silence comes to life. While the repertoire remains in the minimalistic vein, it gives priority to living composers, of which almost all are still active.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe repertoire’s cartography has been extended: its (male or female) composers can be American, of course, but also French, Belgian, German or Latvian.\u003cbr\u003eThe choice of works and their sequencing was dreamed up as a sort of storytelling. On November 10, 2023, InFiné will release American musician Bruce Brubaker's 12th studio album Eno Piano, including a selection of Brian Eno's iconic ambient music, including Music for Airports. Eno Piano is a companion to Bruce Brubaker's acclaimed album Glass Piano (2015) — even the two album covers are companions. Named by Pitchfork \"One of the most exciting pianists in the\u003cbr\u003econtemporary American classical scene,\" Brubaker, in Eno Piano, shows that just as the studio can be a musical instrument, a single musical instrument can be a studio.\u003cbr\u003eBrian Eno's music is a significant part of the repetition-based musical minimalism practiced by Philip Glass, Terry Riley, and others in the 20th century. In 1971, Philip Glass performed at the Royal College of Art in London. In the audience were two 23-year-olds: David Bowie and Brian Eno. Glass's music was a formative influence on Eno. Then later, Philip Glass wrote three symphonies based on the three albums of Eno and Bowie's Berlin Trilogy. Eno Piano acknowledges a deep artistic bond. Brian Eno defined the new genre of \"ambient music.\" Spending hours waiting for a flight at the Cologne-Bonn Airport, Eno became frustrated with the airport's uninspiring  atmosphere.
