Description
After his first EP "Ripples", JAFFNA will be back with "Retrograde", second EP full of more retro sounds. Would they be fans of the Stranger Things series? The comparisons are sometimes not worth much but if we had to find one for this EP, it would be on the side of Moderat and Majid Jordan. Dark and light at the same time, “Retrograde” reflects the duo's assumed desire to take advantage of their greater technical mastery to get you moving, especially on stage. An ultra-hovering intro, vintage electro sounds, the evanescent voice of singer Dyllan, Beyond immediately plunges us into the dancing atmosphere of the EP. Retro but not too much, carried by Stan's voice, the mighty Nightfall feels like an unscheduled orgasm on the early morning dancefloor, a party we never saw coming. Central piece of the EP, Euphoria takes us one step further. Groovy, Club, smoothie, qualify it as you want but the result is there: eyes closed, arms in the air, we are elsewhere. Maximum efficiency. Then it's up to the most dreamy Wish you knew to bring us back to earth. The deliciously Nordic voice of the singer of the duo HAUTE Anna Majidson does it wonderfully, even if we continue to float in front of so much beauty. The chillier and vintage Eleven concludes the EP in the most beautiful way. By making us want to replay it.
