Description
Riding a wave of impressive popularity thanks to their concerts and social media presence, the Berlin-based trio Moses Yoofee released their highly anticipated debut EP, Ocean, in November 2023. Issued on Nils Frahm’s LEITER label, the five-track release was met with critical acclaim and warmly received by audiences. In recognition of their dynamic performances, the trio was awarded the 2024 German Jazz Prize for Best Live Act of the Year. Responding to high demand, they followed up with a limited-edition vinyl release of their first full-length album, which also earned rave reviews.
After the first pressing sold out quickly, the trio is now reissuing Ocean on vinyl, available again starting now. Featuring pianist/keyboardist/producer Moses Yoofee, bassist Roman Klobe-Barangă, and drummer Noah Fürbringer, the trio has electrified clubs and concert halls across Europe in recent years with their explosive, almost outrageous live shows. Drawing influence from R'n'B, hip-hop, and soul as much as from more traditional jazz roots, the tracks on Ocean reflect the spontaneity, inspiration, and instinctive finesse of their performances.
This summer and fall, the trio returns to the stage with a packed live schedule, including headline shows and appearances at major festivals such as the Blue Note Festival in New York and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Their first tour dates in Japan have also been announced, with more European shows to follow.
